Description

The national improved cookstove program is designed to contribute to the implementation of the government of Ethiopia's improved cookstoves distribution plan through building a sustainable and vibrant market for improved cook stoves and building institutional capacity at all levels

Main Objectives

To provide improved energy access to such households, with associated benefits for poverty alleviation, while simultaneously reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the exploitation of non-renewable biomass (NRB) resources and from fossil fuels

Main Activities

Encourage people to adopt domestic biogas plants (DBPs), through three different technologies, which generate biogas for cooking and lighting, ethanol stoves for cooking, and improved cookstoves fuelled by non- renewable biomass
